According to a poll done by the Bank for International Settlements, numerous central banks throughout the world are considering implementing a central bank digital currency, or CBDC. From October to December 2021, 90 percent of 81 central banks questioned were working on CBDCs in some way, with 26 percent conducting CBDC pilots and more than 60 percent doing tests or proofs-of-concept related to a digital currency.
